About the The Krusers

Nothing so much summarizes the KRUSERS as this Shakespeare quote from Henry the Vth:

"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more,
Or close the wall up with our English dead!
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger:
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood."

The Krusers began in 1995 A.D. in the fall league when a bunch of us guys turned 18 (that was a long time ago). We had passion but we stank. Only won one game that year on an error off of Rob Ridley's bat in the bottom of the 7th. Consequently, Rob won Rookie of the Year awawrd.

In 1996 we drafted the 5 tool prospect  - the sweet swinging lefty - Danny Usechek (also won ROY honors) who would later add signifcant contributions to the KRUSERS as he used his patented techniquest to "gather troops."

In 1997 Danny Usechek welcomed his friends Ben Barros (ROY 1997), Bryan Burns, Neal Burns and Shaun Catey to join us on the battlefield. We still stank.

In 1999 the KRUSERS finally gelled as Todd Scarlett joined the bloody fray (and won ROY honors). We discovered Caleb was a born genius of a pitcher. That team became the KRUSERS dynasty.

We won one 2nd place trophy (C league on Sunday nights).

2011 we reuitied and played both summer and fall ball. Jordan Stoner was a huge addition (little brother of the original Stoner).

2012 Todd took over the reigns while David remote controlled from China. Todd displayed heroic levels of coachmanship leading the team to the playoffs in the 15th and final game of the regular season (beating the Bru Kru). At this point, David returned to the team and usurped the teams management and made several questionable decisions (causing near mutiny and actual anger) and the team belly flopped against the number 1 seeded team. Fall ball was called off and the team hopes to try winter ball "aka dome ball."

2013 Was a losing year, however we had fun. Kyle Lednik joined the team as a 1 year wonder. Fastest runner we've ever played with (on either side of the ball).

2014 Summer was a trial. Difficult long season. We played in the Sunday night league and just got hammered by really good teams. The big addition was Josh Thomas in addition to Andy, Isaac and Pete Bilyk.

2014 Fall: finally got full seasons for Greg Hoyle, Jeff Kerber (again), Nick Varallo and Brad Bloomfield. Had an amazing season and lost first place via tie breaker. Had a horrible playoff game with dropped balls (Brett x2 and Josh) plus David k'ing with the tie run on third and 1 out. Played in 35 degree weather for that game. Was a lovely game, but the loss hurt.
